With the success of the current generation of GW detectors, it is our responsibility to develop ideas and technologies for future generations of GW detectors. The laser-interferometric concept will no doubt continue to play a dominant role in future plans, but alternative concepts exist, which might also lead to GW detection one day. In this talk, I will present a range of interesting detector concepts, and I will outline connections between these concepts useful to understand the advantages and disadvantages of the various approaches.
